Preparing for a Glam Shoot
Arrive with a bare face (wash and apply your usual moisturizer), clean, dry hair, and a comfy outfit that doesn't need to be taken off over your head (to sit in while you’re being styled).
Fingers and toes should be clean and groomed. Nails should be a natural color (nude,french,light-pink, etc) for model/actor headshots and portfolios; and any color for family portraits, etc. For men, all facial hair should be groomed. If you wish to have a few 'rough' shots and then shave to include a few shots with a smoother look, please bring your shaving kit and mention this before the shoot. Please use clear deodorant. Spray tan should be avoided. Stay out of the sun – while a base tan will be nice in photos, red, blotchy skin will not. If you wax, do so a few days before your shoot to avoid any bumpiness or redness. If you’re planning to visit the salon for a haircut or color, then give yourself a few days to make sure you are happy with it. Drink plenty of water for luminous skin. Lower your salt intake and avoid alcohol if you’re worried about retaining water. Try on your outfits and lingerie to make sure they fit properly; remove all tags and labels. Steam or iron your ensembles and hang them properly so they keep their shape as you travel to the studio.
